Organizational Contributions

Vote Amáda welcomes contributions from working people, community organizations, and progressive causes. The following organizational contributions are permitted:

Qualifying Nonprofit Organizations

Contributions from a nonprofit organization’s political action committee (PAC) or political fund are permitted, provided the nonprofit:

  1. Is not organized or operating for the principal purpose of conducting a business;
  2. Has no shareholders or other persons with a claim on its assets or earnings; and
  3. Was not established by a for-profit business corporation and maintains a policy not to accept significant contributions from business corporations.

This reflects the nonprofit exemption under Minn. Stat. § 211B.15, subd. 15.

Labor Organizations

Vote Amáda is proud to stand with Minnesota’s working families and labor movement. Contributions from the political fund or PAC of a labor organization (such as AFL-CIO COPE, SEIU, AFSCME, or similar labor-affiliated political funds) that is registered with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board are permitted and welcome, subject to applicable contribution limits. Direct contributions from a labor organization’s general treasury remain prohibited under Minnesota law.

Political Committees and Funds

Contributions from general purpose political committees and funds registered with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board are permitted, subject to applicable contribution limits.
